On 27 October 2018, the King Power Stadium witnessed a 1–1 draw against West Ham United. Shortly after the match, club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died in a helicopter crash outside the stadium. That moment defined the season, casting a shadow over every subsequent match. The squad had to find strength to continue competing in the Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup, carrying the memory of their owner through the rest of the campaign.
