Leicester City FC is a professional English football club based in Leicester, East Midlands. The 2018–19 season was the club's 114th season in the English football league system and their 51st (non-consecutive) season in the top tier of English football. It was their fifth consecutive season in the Premier League. The season was marred by the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in a helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium on 27 October, shortly after a 1–1 home draw against West Ham United.

On 27 October 2018, the King Power Stadium witnessed a 1–1 draw against West Ham United. Shortly after the match, club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died in a helicopter crash outside the stadium. That moment defined the season, casting a shadow over every subsequent match.
